The BBC has reported that detox diets are a complete waste of money, a scientific organization reviewed 15 products.
This is another step in the rubbishing of alternative medicine by the scientific community. It is as if there is a concerted attempt by drug companies, certain scientists, and the EU to drive all alternatives to drug treatments underground.
Now, the observations of practitioners over centuries of patients undergoing detox treatment of various kinds are being discounted through lack of scientific proof.
Colon Detox
Detox, or ‘cleansing’, treatments for the colon are going to have a beneficial effect on health for many. Over the centuries, many respected therapists who have spent a lifetime treating patients have stated that ‘disease starts in the colon’, because they have seen such fantastic results when cleaning it out.
Logic tells us that food waste stored in the colon for too long will putrefy. No doubt some of the toxins caused by this process can be absorbed into the blood vessels of the colon and circulated. As the majority of people do not have bowel movements as often as they eat (2-3 times a day) then the process of ’storing waste matter for too long’ obviously applies to all of these. Colon Detox (colon cleansing) can establish, or re-establish, this healthy frequency of bowel movements.
Liver Detox
The liver frequently is a cause of illnesses. Ask any Chinese practitioner relying on 5000 years of careful and extensive Chinese observation. Detox – or ‘cleanse’ – the liver with herbs, for example – and you can see a great effect on those ailments.
Kidney Detox
The other main organs involved in detox are the kidneys. A very satisfactory kidney detox – or kidney cleanse – can be achieved directly by using herbs which benefit the kidneys and bladder.
All three of these important detox organs – colon, liver and kidneys can be detoxed at one time using a systemic detox herbal treatment. This will not have quite such a powerful effect on the separate organs as a detox ‘just for them’ – but in can be that a more general detox is desirable. It can be taken for a course of up to 90 days, so a thorough cleanse will have been done by then.
Of course, detox will only work properly if accompanied by a healthy lifestyle.
Diet and Detox
A healthy lifestyle includes a good diet. This means cutting down on meat and dairy; and increasing vegetables and salads and fruit. This increases the amount of nutrients in the diet which the body needs to function well. Generally we all eat too much starchy food – wheat, potatoes, rices, pasta – and this should be reduced.
Exercise and Lifestyle
Execs is another vital part of healthy lifestyle. It is good to exercise several times a week for our heart and vascular system. This will get the heart beating rapidly and maintain the fast beating for at least 20 minutes. Swimming, rowing and singles tennis are good examples of this. (Running or jogging are good too – but damage the knees long term.) Tennis doubles is not such good exercise because of the relatively long rests between points. One of the best exercises for the heart is simply walking. A half hour walk a day is extremely good here.
Detox Is A Great Idea
Try detox out for yourself before deciding whether it is for you or not. There is a good reason why it has been used for centuries – it is because it is often helpful. Over the years our organs start slowing down and becoming less efficient. Detoxing gives the body a chance to improve the function of our major organs, and help restore our health and energy to what it was.
